"Moreau's Lament"

Film: Terror is a Man (1959)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Haunted Home/Jungle

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Dr. Moreau was a complicated man. One that dabbled in the mangling of genetics and the link between man and beast. But this is not his story. This is one of a similar soul, just one not quite as bright.

History: On an uncharted land known lovingly as Blood Island, there was Dr. Charles Girard, a man who believed that he could bridge the missing link between the man and the primal beast. Unfortunately, his one creation, a panther forcefully modified to resemble a human, was an uncontrollable sort, and his mere presence sent literally all of the island's natives that weren't loyal to the doctor packing. However, it didn't take long for another man to get marooned on the island and complicate things further...

Notable Kills: See Final Fate below.

Final Fate: Driven by madness and fear, the hybrid breaks from his confines and is confronted by his creator. He wastes no time in biting a chunk out of his neck and throwing his limp corpse off a cliff. Unfortunately, the castaway shoots the hybrid in the side, causing him to follow suit off the cliff. He was last seen limping along the shore as a village kid looked on, incredulous at how pathetic his mother's killer had become (oh, yeah. That happened). The monster then just disappeared...

Powers/Abilities: Nothing special.

Weakness: Anything conventional, especially bright lights.

Scariness Factor: 1.5-He's easy to kill and looks like an emo Cat in the Hat (minus the hat) dressed as a mummy. Not very threatening.

Trivia: -This film was shot entirely in Manila, Philippines.

-The Black Panther isn't its own species, but rather a name used to describe any black colored member of the Panthera species.

My own tranquilizer? The 'more terrifying' slogan? Uh, this is kinda much for a film like this.

Aw, look. It's the lady who read the script.

A brave new world awaits this creature.
Spoilers: That time and effort for the bell system isn't worth it. Maybe...

Oh, great. You just ended the movie with that overly large scapel.

Alright. That's biologically terrifying. We'll admit.
Demon Cat, Lion, or Panther. Make up your mind!

"Mr. Whiskers! NO!"

C'mon! The original title was awesome! Why this?!

Japan, why did you have to make this overly ominous? You're really good at doing that, it seems.

"And don't come back unless you come with tuna! What, with the sea below and all."
